Abstract: Dam operation safety of hydropower station is closely related to the security of life and property of people both upstream and downstream. During the storage and operation of hydropower stations, the sharp rise and fall of water level of reservoir and lower reaches would pose a safety risk to people's lives and property. Such accidents had occurred in many hydropower stations in China. Based on safety management of Jinping hydropower station during the storage and early operation, public safety risk, control measures and their effectiveness are introduced and analyzed, for reference.
