Abstract: The emergency spillway of Shuifeng hydropower station was built in 1942. As poor design and low construction quality, it was partly ruined in the flood discharge in 1946. Rehabilitation was carried out during 1955～1958, and till now, it has been in operation for more than 50 years. Combined with related data, the safety of the emergency spillway was analysed and appraised.
