Abstract: Fengman dam was evaluated as the dam with defects in its second periodic dam safety inspection. It caused the concerns from the society and the electicpower system. This paper described the dam safety state, evaluation comments and the main issues existed according to the historical information, such as rehabilitation and dam monitoring data during design, construction operation, as well as the analysis results of the recently dam exploration and review. Thus, the comprehensive and objective understanding and consideration should be gotten to the safety situation of Fengman Dam from the society and the electricpower system.
