Abstract: The structure and functions of the safety monitoring system were introduced in the paper, which includes dam safety monitoring subsystem, spillway gates controlling subsystem, hydrological data acquisition subsystem, video inspection subsystem, integrative professional application software subsystemand so on. The development and application of the safety monitoring system improved the reliability, scientificity, security and automatization of operation and management for Shanmei reservoir.
