Abstract: The character of Xixiayuan project was summarized in this paper, and the principle of safety monitoring design was put forward according to its characters. At the same time, the layout of monitoring instruments and choice of monitoring items for earthrock fill dams, concrete dams and the connection damblocks of themwere discussed as a key point.
