Abstract: There is no successful experience on how to eliminate the seal coat fractured at the top owing to freezing on the facing in the winter for the concrete facing rockfill dams constructed in the northeastern region with extremely cold. We have summarized a new technology on watertight seal and frost prevention suitable for that. In this paper, the application and effects are introduced with the example of lotus dam.
