Abstract: Pre-warning system and emergency preparation plan are the important compositive components of dam safety management. From the view of dam-drainage area, this paper briefly introduced the setup of dam pre-warning system and the devel-opment of emergency preparation plan. It is considered to be paid equal attention to prevention and treatment for dam safety. It’s urgent to push the setup and implementation of pre-warning system and emergency preparation plan of dam safety management in China, in order to ensure the safety of the dam and the downstream people.?
