Abstract: Based on the practice of the modification of Dahuofang reservoir safety monitoring automation system, this paper introduced the management and control aspects by the owner, such as system design, construction, equipment purchase, installation and the process of operation. It can guarantee the safety and steady-going of the system, the accuracy of the data collected, the improvement of the performance of the whole system and prolong its life span. From this project, it was explored the right way for automation system construction in the cold areas in China.
